Description

A dramatic yellow crocodile forms the centrepiece of this 1970s Asafo flag composition. Usually on flags of this type the Asafo officer (the supi) with his whip, is just pointing towards the central motif but oddly here it appears he has got a bit too close to the action and his hand is enveloped in the crocodile’s mouth. I also like the colour combinations and the fetching boxer shorts. This flag is likely the work of the well known master flagmaker Kobina Badowah and his workshop in the village of Kormantse.   Condition: Excellent.

Measurement: 62 inches x 37 ins, 157 cm x 95 cm.
