Description
Superb early C20th example of the red and white “checkerboard” style of Ewe weaving, vivid red blocks alternating with squares made up of black and white stripes. Note the variation in the pattern on the lower edge strip and a few small variations in the regularity of the black and white stripes. This quite thick strong cloth is in excellent complete condition. It would look great on a stretcher or for interiors uses. Dates from circa 1920s.
Measurements 5’6″ x 3′, 169 cm x 92.
