Description

Fine men’s cloth from the Abron or Koulango peoples of the Bondoukou with a dynamic offbeat array of weft faced stripes in multiple colours across the hand spun indigo dyed cotton ground. This cloth is complete despite being only 18 strips wide, suggesting that perhaps it was made for a youth from a wealthy family. In excellent condition. Dates from circa 1930-1950. Very few cloths of comparable quality from this region are coming onto the market in recent years.
