Description
Rows of pale blue stripes are set against the dark berry background on this 1960s Yoruba aso oke woman’s wrapper cloth. Woven openwork holes are linked down the cloth by the thick threads floating along the cloth surface. Although this was a frequently used technique this colour combination is particularly unusual. It’s in excellent condition and strong cloth that would make an excellent furnishing fabric.
Measurements 80 inches x 65, 203 cm x 166.
