Description
Beautiful palette of warm autumnal colours on this fine antique Ewe kente men’s cloth dating from around 1920s. Orange, brown, cream and white predominate in the weft blocks on a background of multiple narrow warp stripes including a rich wine red shade. Extra weft float motifs in orange and white are mainly geometric and include a few rather abstract birds. Condition is excellent.
Measures 111 inches X 63, 282 cm X 162.
