A remarkable woven wrapper from the Bwa people of Burkina. The Bwa are known for there large figurative weft float motifs, usually in black thread on a white cotton ground. A few of these designs, such as crocodiles, elephants etc, have recently been enlarged across several strips, and coloured versions such as this appear to be the latest development. Probably for a tourist market rather than local use but nevertheless an impressive piece of weaving.
